MoonEssence Gentle Cleanser-4 oz.-$23.99-Made in USA
MoonEssence Hydrating Toner-4 oz.-$23.99-Made in USA
I have some really exciting products to review for you today! As you may or may not know, I have a slight issue with sensitive, acne prone skin that is normal to dry, which is not a good combo because I need something powerful to knock out the acne without disturbing my sensitive skin or drying it out. This is why I was so excited when the company SFRbeauty asked if I would like to review these products!
SFRbeauty in San Francisco is selling a wide variety of Beauty Products worldwide.
As you can tell from the pictures, both of these products are over 80% organic and formulated for normal to dry to mature skins. Now I don't have mature skin so I can't comment on that! These come beautifully packaged in glass bottles which really make the product look pretty and solid.
First let's chat about the cleanser.
This is the gentle cleanser that's formulated with organic green tea, aloe, lavender, and more. The formula is of a lotion consistency that does not foam or anything, it simply is rubbed into the skin. Because it's almost entirely an organic product, it does have a strong herbal odor which I don't notice lingering on my skin afterwards, but may bother you if you are sensitive to scents.
-Ingredients-
organic aloe juice, orgaic green tea extract, milk, organic lavender distillate, organic roman chamomile distillate, rose distillate, grapeseed oil, emulsifying wax NF, kosher vegetable glycerin, witch hazel, vitamin e, phenoxyethanol, disodium salt, xanthan gum, organic honey, vitamin c ester, pro-vitamin b5, vitamin a, mannan, black willowbark extract, neem oil, rosemary citric acid
How about the toner?
This is a rose water toner and if you don't already know, rose water has been used for centuries as a toner for the skin and it's well been proven to work well. The spray nozzle on this bottle is really good-it sprays out a little stronger than a mist. There's no bad odor with this toner, just a light rose scent that's very refreshing. I usually do two sprays on my face and the toner dries very quickly leaving my skin with a slightly dewy finish.
-Ingredients-
organic aloe leaf juice, rose distillate, organic lavender hydrosol, kosher vegetable glucerin, phenoxyethanol, disodium salt, hyaluronic acid, citric acid
So how do they work?
I use a pea sized amount of the cleanser in the shower and follow up with two spritzes of the toner one-two times a day. I've been testing this duo for about three weeks now and I can safely say that I've seen a difference in my skin! I suffer from redness on my cheeks and red bumps on my forehead and I've noticed that they have calmed down a lot. My skin feels softer and just looks healthier.
Now, this is not going to fight acne. But, I will say that hormonal breakouts that I get every month were not nearly as bad this month. In fact, I didn't have one nasty active breakout that I usually get. That's a major improvement.
Can I use this if I have oily skin?
I would say that this is safe to use for oily skin as I didn't notice any residue or oils left behind by either product.
Will this help my pores?
No. I have quite large pores around the center of my face and while I can say that these products did not help that problem one bit, it also did not make my pores more clogged.
Where can I buy it?
US & international buyers: visit SFRbeauty
The Bottom Line
9/10
For the duo, these are very gentle and good for those with normal, mature, slightly dry, and slightly oily skin. If you're looking for a gentle cleanser without all the chemicals and perservatives, check these out!
