Get Dramatic Lashes with the L'Oreal Double Extend Eye Illuminator Mascara, Review!

L'Oreal Paris Double Extend Eye Illuminator Mascara in 430, Black Bronze
0.4 oz.-Made in USA-$10-Permanent

This is one of those "eye enhancing" mascaras, this shade in particular being marketed for green and hazel eyes, which mine are brown so I unfortunately can't comment on that much. But, I can give some thoughts on how this particular mascara performed!

There's two sides: a step one which is a black mascara, and a step two which is a bronze shimmery mascara.

Step 1 is a standard bristle brush with a very black mascara. I really like this mascara and I found it to be very volumizing, lengthening and separating for my lashes. This is not waterproof so it also comes off easily with hot water. I did wear it on my lower lashline and found it to smudge onto my undereye area, though.

Step 2 is a really strangely shaped wand. I find that it personally doesn't work well at all to apply this mascara because you can tell at the lower part of the torture ball the bristles are really far apart for them to really grab the lashse. And the mascara isn't good at all either. I got no actual bronze color applied to my lashes, just a lot of glitter that kept falling into my eyes throughout the day.

This is also formulated with parabens!

The Pros:
I really like the plain black mascara side-the formula is good, not too wet or too dry, and it really makes my lashes look good.

The Cons:
This mascara fails at what it was designed to do-enhance your eyes. The "pearl balls of light" that are in step 2 is really just glitter that falls down my face and creates a mess.

The Bottom Line
5.5/10
I like step 1, but this mascara doesn't do what it's marketed to do. There are plenty of other black mascaras that are just as good but for half the price in the drugstore!

What do you think? Do you buy into these "eye enhancing" mascaras?
